Couples therapy
In couples therapy we seek to understand each person's dynamics: background, hopes, fears, expectations, and examine them and see what works for each person and the couple as a unit. We will focus on efficient problem-solving and working on presenting issues by using concrete interventions. There are some simple yet effective techniques that we can use to communicate more effectively and create a safer and more loving atmosphere, where each partner can feel nourished and loved/loving in a deep meaningful way.
As a therapist or marriage counselor I work with (but am not limited to):
- Improving communication
- Relationship and transitions: living together, engagement, marriage, separating, etc
- Working through built up resentment, anger and disappointment
- Deepening intimacy, connection and trust
- Discussing difficult issues such as money and sex
- Working with fights and issues that seem to never get resolved
- Managing the impact of work and other outside stressors on the relationship
